Rodriguez (L) will take on Greer (R) tonight in Kentucky. |
After a layoff that has lasted just over a year, undefeated Akron middleweight Jose Rodriguez Jr. will find himself in a place he loves tonight, between the ropes in front of screaming fans as the 25-year-old Tallmadge High School alum will take on Jackson, TN native Marquan Greer tonight at Bourbon Hall in Louisville, KY.
This will be the first fight for Rodriguez Jr. since he scored a unanimous decision victory over Javier Frazier in Cincinnati on October 20, 2018 to improve his unblemished record to 6-0 with 4 wins coming by way of knockout.
Rodriguez Jr. who trains at Rodriguez Boxing Club in Tallmadge under the watchful eye of his father also has a younger brother who carries an unblemished record as 24-year-old David Rodriguez is 2-0.
Though he's been in-active for over a year, Rodriguez Jr. has stayed busy training daily and even spent parts of the past year in the Las Vegas area getting some work in alongside Shawn Porter.
Ordinally Rodriguez Jr. was slated to take on a tougher opponent in his return to the ring but was forced to take on a less challenging opponent in Greer when his original challenger came in 10-pounds over weight.

Greer, 21, will bring an 0-7 record into the ring but has been in against some very tough opposition in his professional career which he began in November of 2017.
