Darnell Boone celebrated Halloween early with his ring walk attire at the Montreal Casino in Montreal, Canada on Saturday afternoon as the 39-year-old heavy-handed light heavyweight went toe to toe with up and coming Russian born, Arur Ziyatdinov.
Ziyatdinov, 23, who now calls Montreal his home was able to drop Boone with a sharp right in the second round, but what he thought might turn into an early days work turned out to be anything but as Boone made Ziyatdinov earn every round he won en route the unanimous decision victory.
Boone, who vowed he will come back at a lighter weight class for his next fight, was able to shine in spurts by landing some of the hardest blows the now 11-0 Ziyatdinov has eaten in his young career.
The judges scored the bout 78-73, 79-72, 78-73.
With the loss, Boone saw his record fall to 24-25-5.
